SOME people!!!

You know how there are some people that are just always thoughtful….and then there are those…..well….. there are those that are DOPES?!!!

UGH – today I OH SO TOTALLY qualify as a DOPE – and then some.

Holly Belle, I know your birthday is today – I have told myself for weeks that I wanted to remember it well. And not only did I not remember it well, I didn’t remember it at ALL!! I read your comment and my stomach fell.

Oh dear friend, I’m so sorry. Here is my birthday prayer for you:

Father, I ask Lord, that You would be mindful of my dear sister and the trials that she is facing right now. I pray Father that You would be near – that Your Presence alone would be all that she needs. May she be fully aware of Your sufficiency and Your strength and Your faithfulness. (And Lord, healing for her troop would be a huge blessing)

And here is my birthday gift to you:

hot tub It should hold most of your crew – but definitely you and your dear hubby. Sit, breathe deeply and enjoy the refreshing of your sore body. 😉

I wish we were close enough we could have celebrated together! I’d even have let you have the first bite of the chocolate cake.

Happy, happy Birthday, dear friend!!!

    Many Birthday blessings, Holly!

    I offer up Lady Jane Grey’s prayer as yours for the coming year…

    O merciful God, be Thou unto me
    A strong Tower of defence,
    I humbly entreat Thee.
    Give me grace to await Thy leisure,
    And patiently to bear
    What Thou doest unto me;
    Nothing doubting or mistrusting
    Thy goodness towards me;
    For Thou knowest what is good for me
    Better than I do.
    Therefore do with me in all things
    What Thou wilt;
    Only arm me, I beseech Thee,
    With Thine armor,
    That I may stand fast;
    Above all things taking to me
    The shield of faith;
    Praying always that I may
    Refer myself wholly to Thy will,
    Abiding Thy pleasure, and comforting myself
    In those troubles which it shall please Thee
    To send me, seeing such troubles are
    Profitable for me; and I am
    Assuredly persuaded that all Thou doest
    Cannot but be well; and unto Thee
    Be all honor and glory. Amen.

    Happy Birthday, Holly!

    All is grace,
    Ann

  2. Oh good grief, Dawn, (Says I, in my best Charlie Brown voice) it isn’t a big deal. 🙂 I was just saying that I could relate to the aging body thing….and that I should get my hiney moving, too. 🙂

    But…I’ll take the hot tub AND the chocolate cake. On second thought…I’ll take ALL of the chocolate cake. Move over, sister. 🙂

    Thanks for your sweet sentiments. 🙂

    Ann – that is a MOVING poem. I’ll be printing that out…

    Dear Holly, I love you very much. HOWEVER, if you think all that cake is YOURS, well, HONEY, you got another think coming. 🙂 I said we’d celebrate TOGETHER…me and thee. Not thee without me.

    Thanks for being so gracious, my dear.

  4. Holly – Birthdays most certainly ARE a big deal! Don’t you know how thankful we all are that God sent you to this world on this day blank years ago? 🙂 Now where’s my fork – y’all cain’t hog all that cake!

  5. javadawn says:

    I don’t know – Holly, do you think we can fight this little young punk off OUR cake?? 😆 I think we can take her.

    Happy Birthday, dear Holly! Here are some verses for you on this special day.

    “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Josh. 1:3, 5
    “The land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys…A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.” Deut. 11:11, 12
    “Ye are God’s husbandry.” I Cor. 3:9
    “Created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:10
    “Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee.” Ps. 31:19
    “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” Num. 6:24-26

  10. Patricia says:

    It sure is a good thing I’m not that fond of chocolate – having arrived at the party as it is coming to a close! Of course, we had Thanksgiving dinner tonight (the first of three) and I am stuffed (no pun intended) with pumpkin pie, anyway! Dearest Holly, I pray that your birthday was filled with the pleasure of His presence….and that you got all the chocolate cake your heart desired! Love ~ Patricia

  12. Holly says:

    Well, Gwarsh, y’all. Thanks! This blog is the birthday happenin’ place, ain’t it? 🙂

    I’m 38, for the curious. 🙂 I’m not too afraid of aging. 🙂 At least for another year. 🙂

    And yes…I suppose…we can share the cake. We’ll just make more in this cyber world! 🙂

    Wish you all could come to my house in real life!

  13. Holly says:

    And Violet, thank you for your lovely scriptures!

  14. Jenna says:

  15. Lynn says:

    Whew! I got here just in time to wish you a happy birthday! I realize it’s already tomorrow where you live, Holly, but in good ol’ Alaska, it’s still your birthday and we’re up here celebrating… in other words, finishing off that chocolate cake (and, yes, I’ve been known to lick the plate when good chocolate is involved.) Hope your day was wonderful and praying that healing comes to you family soon.
    Love ya,
    Lynn

  16. Holly says:

    Thanks, Jenna and Lynn. Oh wait…there’s a little smudge of chocolate on your chin… 🙂

    Dawn…I really like that blue Tennyson book up at top. It is calling my name…

    Holly, my dear…at the Hilleson household we celebrate momma’s birthday for days on end…sometimes weeks or months afterward (b/c dh was too caught up in planting season or just forgot , sweet thing). Anyways, I’m exercising the right to stretch your birthday out and celebrate today as well and I’ll bring more chocolate cake! Much love to you on your birthday and all through the year.

    p.s. Would you mind “sharing” the poem Ann sent you? It was so touching, I think I’ll print out a copy for my Bible.
